Starting my #Paleo 30 Experiment!
So today I begin my 30 day Paleo experiment. I've been noodling around with low carb diets for a year now and have been pretty pleased with the results. Thanks to my family, I have read and listened to more information about Paleo nutrition and fitness and I am interested. Especially in the biochemical and biophysiological detail that Robb Wolf goes into.
If you are not familiar with Paleo (paleolithic) eating, the premise goes something like this: we should eat things that our bodies have evolved the to digest and use. As with anything this can be taken to crazy extremes but I'm not too interested in that. What I am going to do is basically stop eating dairy, grains (rice, wheat, corn, and barley) and beans as well as super-manufactured foods and artificial sweeteners and that kinds of stuff. It sounds pretty simple but when you start thinking about it corn and wheat and cheese are in almost everything somehow. So last night I prepared for my 30 day experiment by going out to eat and ordering meatloaf on Texas toast with sweet potato fries and beer. It is kind of funny how what would have been a typical meal a year ago now seems like a crazy splurge dinner! So off and on over the next 30 days I will keep posting about my thoughts and experiences. If you are a Paleo person, I'd love to hear any thoughts or comments on your first 100% strict 30 day trial, the good, the bad, and the fantastic!
